ORLANDO (July 6, 2009) – Move over e-Bay…It’s “Rosen Meeting Mania!” Rosen Hotels & Resorts is taking online auctions to the extreme by putting Orlando meetings on the auction block. The hotel group, with three award-winning Orlando convention hotels, is now offering meeting planners and groups the opportunity to bid on hot deals on meeting packages through http://www.rosenhotels.com/meetingmania

Leslie Menichini, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Rosen Hotels & Resorts, Convention Properties, explains the unique concept this way, “Meeting planners can enjoy both substantial savings and incredible value for the money by making reservations as far in advance of their events as possible. But as dates grow closer, the rates go higher, so if you snooze, you lose!”

Bids for the meeting packages start at approximately one third of the total meeting value, while the “Buy It Now” bids may represent savings as large as $100,000 or an estimated 12 per cent off the master account depending on the size of the group.

Several packages with different dates and groups sizes will be available on the website for all three of Rosen Hotels & Resorts’ award-winning convention properties — the 810-room Rosen Plaza, the 1,334-room Rosen Centre and starting with the AAA Four Diamond Rosen Shingle Creek with 1,500 rooms.

A sample meeting package includes a Dec. 6 – 10, 2009 three-night stay at Rosen Shingle Creek for 250 attendees with 150 guest rooms, complete with a welcome reception and bar, three full meals for day one, and breakfast and lunch for days two, three and four. The package includes audio/visual support for the general session consisting of rear screen projection, large screen and dress kit, speaker system and lighting as well as five breakout session meeting rooms with LCD/screens. The meeting package is valued at $260,000, with the “Buy It Now” price at $230,000 and a starting bid of $85,000.

Another package at Rosen Shingle Creek is for Sept. 27-30, 2009 and includes a three-night stay for 750 people and 500 guest rooms with the same meal/reception service and A/V support for $760,000, with the “Buy It Now” price at $665,000 and the starting bid at $230,000.

Dates are not flexible, but packages can be enhanced for an additional cost. All packages are net/non-commissionable and are not applicable to any other promotions, discounts and may not replace a definite previously contracted meeting or participate in the worry-free attrition promotion.

Together, the three Rosen convention hotels offer the largest number of guestrooms, largest combined gross square feet of meeting/event space and closest proximity to the Orange County Convention Center of any Orlando convention hotels.
